In the ‘before times’ folks would head out to cinemas to enjoy the latest blockbuster movie, popcorn, and sometimes even come early or stay late at the VIP lounges at Cineplex. We enjoyed treating the patrons to live music before or after their movies. In fact, we played a few theme nights!
When the movie “Yesterday” was released (a movie about everyone forgetting the Beatles except for one enterprising songwriter who claims he wrote all their songs), we played a TON of Beatles songs for the crowd.
On another night, when the last Star Wars movie was released, we played “Yoda”, a Weird Al inspired take on Lola, and of course “The Saga Begins”, another Weird Al concoction about the Star Wars prequels. They were pretty amazing nights.

It’s nice to see theatres filling up again, and we can only hope we’ll be invited back to Cineplex one day soon to serenade the patrons!
